Cowboy, Take Me Away....

Lydia and I hadn't been babysitting in Peoria for over a month. The boys were very eager to get back into the swing of things...like dressing Lydia in their cowboy hats, giving her lots of kisses, and informing me that she was THEIR baby! For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, Lydia and I go to Peoria on Wednesdays and Thursdays to babysit Caleb and Colton Schlipf who are almost 3. Lydia loves it...she enjoys watching the boys rough house with each other and they give her lots of cool toys to play with.

She's doing much better eating foods. She is currently eating squash twice a day and this morning she had a little banana. We'll probably start something new next week...maybe some sweet potatoes!

Also new....Lydia went potty on the big girl potty this morning!! I could tell by the facial expressions that something was going on, so I set her on the potty and she went #1 and #2! Lily and I told her that she was a very good girl. Potty training at 7 months...who would've thought! Very excited things going on around the Wettstein's!

LAUNDRY & CHEERIOS

Well...we've been stuck in the house since Saturday with bad colds. It's not like we were going to go anywhere in this weather anyway!? We're ready for some warmer weather so we can get outside. So, while we were stuck in the house, Lydia learned how to do laundry. She is very good at riding in the laundry basket as well as sucking on all the tags while Mommy folds. I'm pretty sure she's almost ready to start sorting!

She also had her first experience with Cheerios. Yeah...that didn't go so well. While they were very intriguing....she got one in her mouth, gagged on it, and threw up! So, we must not be ready for those yet. She did have some chicken noodle soup broth since she wasn't feeling well. That was a hit!

Also new...I have my second tooth! I'm also crawling all over the house and pulling myself up on whatever I can get my hands on.

YUMMY YUMMY CARROTS

Yum! Yum! We started Lydia on food last night. I made baby food from our garden this summer and froze it for her. I forgot to label a few of the bags, so we weren't exactly sure what we were thawing. Ed and I tasted it and decided it was carrots. I have been strictly nursing her up until this point, so she wasn't quite sure what was going on. As you can tell from the pictures, she was more interested in the spoon that the food. We have also started giving her water in a sippy cup, which she loves! I don't know how much water she gets, but she sure enjoys playing with it. Pay particular attention to the bib...My Dad is a Trucker! This was Ed's favorite shower gift...Thanks Aunt Angie!
