Santa

Lydia recognizes who Santa is, can say Santa, and can tell you what Santa says! But....she does not like to see Santa in person. As you can see from the pictures, it did not go over too well until he gave her a sucker and Mommy sat with her! Maybe next year?

December Pictures

We have been very busy this month. Here are some pictures of the fine I've been having....lots of baking with Mom, making sugar cookies with Grandma, Aunt Em and Avery...
celebrating Mommy's birthday...
helping decorate the tree (and then taking the ornaments off when Mommy isn't looking)...
playing horse with Daddy (I say gi-up)...

and having a slumber party with my cousins.
As you can see, we have been having lots of fun. On days we stay home, I tell Mommy bye bye all day. We are thankful for family and friends who make many memories with us!
p.s. Santa pictures coming soon!!

The Reading Bed

My cousins came over to play the other day and we had a great time reading books in Mom and Dad's bed! It is one of my favorite places to read books anyways, so I made room for Dylan and Kenzie too! We had lots of fun playing together...I hope they come back soon.

Baby Isabella

Meet my new cousin...Isabella Leah Wettstein. We took pizzas over to Uncle Curt and Aunt Larisa's and got to see Bella for the first time. I think she's pretty cool. The first thing I did was want to hold her (cause Mommy was holding her and I didn't want to be left out). Mommy tells me to be nice because I think she's like my babydolls, and I can just squeeze her and toss her around. After a little while, I started playing with Daddy and Uncle Curt and didn't pay too much attention to her. Except, I was really wanting to cuddle with Aunt Ris...Mommy was holding her baby, so she could hold me right!? February is going to be ever so interesting around here.........

bubbles in the bath

Please ignore our nasty bathroom held together by tape and garbage sacks! It's our last room to remodel...we'll get to it one of these days!?!?!? Anyway, I found some bubbles in the cabinet awhile back and thought Lydia might have fun with them. Sure enough! I ask her if she wants to take a bath and she goes right to the tub and tries to climb in while saying bubbles, bubbles. She thinks it's funny to put them on your face. And of course, we have to put some on the baby!

Everything is going well with the baby. I'm almost 29 weeks. He/She is very active and we all enjoy feeling lots of movement....Lydia doesn't always have the patience to wait for him/her to kick, but she gives plenty of kisses and lays her head on my belly throughout the day. I enjoy watching her give kisses to him/her and hope that she has that much love once its here! We tell her she's going to be a great big sister!

Happy Halloween

Our little poodle! I had a hard time getting a good picture of her this year because she's so busy and didn't want to stop for a picture. She didn't throw fits about having the costume on though, so I can't complain. We didn't go to too many houses...just grandparents and a few friends. Then back to Uncle Ryan and Aunt Em's for chili and playing with cousins! She had plenty of sweets though. Nap time was a little difficult on Sunday...she played in her bed for over an hour before she went to sleep.

Daddy, Mommy and Fi Fi the poodle!

OH MY...this was sooooo crazy! Try getting 5 cousins all 5 and under to stand still and look at the camera! Ya right....memories we'll laugh at later! Anyhow...Avery (scarecrow), Kenzie (flower), Lily (Pocahontas), Dylan (tiger) and Lydia (poodle)! We have quite the crew!!

Some New Holes

Check out the new holes that someone discovered! GREAT! Obviously she thinks it is funny stuff. Today Lydia is 16 months old...crazy I know. She is talking more and more. I am amazed at all the different things she says. Her favorite things to say are mama, daddy and avery, avery, avery! She says Avery all day long. When I ask her what her name is, she says Avery too! I tell her no, your name is Lydia. She says no, Avery. Well then...

She has had a cough/cold for 4-5 days now. She acts fine during the day, but when she goes to sleep at night, she wakes up coughing a lot. We spent 3 nights sleeping in the chair so she could get some rest without continual coughing. Last night she slept through the night with no coughing! Praise the Lord for a whole night's rest! So far she's missed the nasty flu..hope we miss it all winter long!

My Two Favorite People

Here are some pictures we've taken in the last week or so. It seems like I don't have many pictures of Lydia and I because I'm always the one with the camera. Ed happened to be home and snap this one of us..it turned out so good! I love my little peanut!!

And of course...deer season started October 1! Ed was out in his stand as soon as he got home and got this doe right before he was getting ready to come in. We are very thankful for it because we only have a few pounds of meat left in the freezer! He had to get Lydia all bundled up and outside for a picture...I'm sure she'll be in a stand as soon as she can sit still for more than 30 seconds!

Sleeping Positions

I am amazed at the way this girl can fall asleep. How uncomfortable does this look? Lydia has not been too interested in getting rocked to sleep these days, so we try to rock her and if she doesn't want anything to do with it, we lay her in bed with her baby and a sippy and tell her good night. She usually fusses for a few minutes and then she's out. I always go in and cover her up and check on her after a few minutes....so happens this is what I walked in to one afternoon for nap. I just had to laugh!

I've always rocked Lydia to sleep, but a few months ago Ed said I was going to have to start getting her used to going to sleep on her own. Due to the fact that the new baby will be here, and it will be hard for me to rock two babies to sleep on my own. Needless to say, that didn't go over with Mommy so well...not rocking my baby to sleep...listening to her cry herself to sleep...what was he thinking!? I told him it could wait till February 4 got a little closer...she's only one and still a baby too! He didn't say too much else about it...I tend to be a little emotional these days!?! It was honestly something I was dreading changing, but it has been amazing to see how God has just totally taken care of it. Sometimes we forget that God cares about the small things, but He does and He took care of something for me that I was not looking forward to! I do miss rocking my baby to sleep, but we still find time every day to rock and read or sing songs or snuggle. She's growing up way too fast!

Boxes and Rocks with Cousin Avery

Who needs toys when you have empty boxes and a big rock pile? Lydia thought it was so great to be pushed around the house by Avery. They laughed and laughed!

Then Ed took them outside to play and they ended up in the big rock pile with the dog. If Ed is home on Fridays, he always takes them outside to play and give me a little break. Funny thing...they always need baths when they come in! I roll my eyes and Ed says, "but they had fun!" I guess that is all that really matters.

Lydia is 14 months old. She is very into babies right now, which I hope is still the case come February. She has started sleeping with this little baby she got when she was born and in the mornings we hear her saying baby, baby, baby over and over. She also knows where Mommy's baby is and thinks it's soooo funny to lift up my shirt and have me say baby. Sometimes she'll even give the baby a kiss! She'll be a great big sister!

My Big Green Tractor

I'll take you for a ride on my big green tractor!

This is one of their favorite things to do together...ride the tractor. Mom was a little concerned about it at first...it doesn't seem all that safe. But.... after watching for awhile Daddy convinced Mommy that he was holding her tight and that she would not fall off!

It's been awhile since I've updated...we seem to stay pretty busy and when we are home, we're likely to be taking a nap or two together! Lydia is a busy one year old. She has 12 teeth now. Her bottom molars are through, but are still working their way to the top. She's not enjoying that too much. She is a chatter box..although a lot of it I don't understand. But, she does say a few things...mama, dada, papa, kitty, chicken, dog, thank you. I try to get her to say please when she wants food or more food, but instead she just brings me what she wants and says mama, mama, mama while she's pushing it in my face. I'm sure please will come, but for now I enjoy here mama as much as she wants to say it!

I'm 16 weeks along now and finally starting to feel better. I have been watching what I eat a little more in the past few weeks, and that seems to help. I still go to bed early and take a little afternoon nap when Lydia takes hers, but I feel like I have a little more energy. We go back to the doctor on September 18 for our 20 week sonogram. Please be praying that everything looks good with the baby....they will be checking the major organs, etc.

Our Visit to Oak Run

I had so much fun visiting Uncle Dean and Aunt Chris. Here are a few things I did...

went swinging at the park,

went on a boat ride,

played in the sand,

and stole Mommy's tooth brush so I could brush my teeth!
We had a wonderful time. Lydia loved the beach. She especially liked to rake the sand and pick it up and give it to me. She enjoyed the boat ride too. Uncle Dean had a fun time making her go forward and back as she tried to walk around the boat. Cousin Lily and Cousin Bailey kept her giggling by carrying her all over and giving her plenty of attention. She had a hard time winding down at night due to everything going on, but when she did get to sleep, she slept very well in her pack n play. That made Mommy very happy cause she was able to get some sleep too! Thanks Uncle Dean and Aunt Chris for letting us visit!!

Summer Days

We've been eating a lot of corn on the cob these days and Lydia loves it! I started by cutting it off the cob, but she was much more interested in how Mommy and Daddy were eating it! She will chew on it forever!
We're off to Oak Run for a few days with Grandma....we'll post some new pics when we get back!

Sticker Fun With Mommy

Lydia found some of my gold star stickers from teaching. She had fun, but Mommy got the most laughs. I put them all over her face and she had no clue. Then I took her to the mirror so she could check herself out! She didn't quite know what to think! I'm still finding stickers in interesting places throughout the house!
On another note, Lydia is popping teeth like crazy. She was having some bad diapers and she woke up three times in one week throwing up in her bed. I was getting concerned, and then she popped a tooth through and that was the end of it. Well, it kind of started again a few days later, and Ed found two more that came through. I have no idea how I missed them cause I've been checking daily. That makes 10 teeth!! We'll see how many more we get this next week!!

First Trip to the Zoo

We went to the zoo a few weeks ago with my sister and Avery, and my sister-in-law and Dylan and Kenzie. We wanted to check out the new Africa exhibit...it was really cool! Lydia is a little young yet to really see and watch all the animals, unless they are big and close. She still had fun though!

Lydia is walking everywhere and finally got another tooth in. She hasn't gotten one in a few months....we are up to 8 now. She really enjoys riding on the four wheeler with Daddy and being pulled around in her new wagon! She started giving hugs and is giving kisses more often too! She has also been a big help in the garden. I pick the beans and put them in the bowl and she throws them out of the bowl and I pick them up again when we're all done! I told her she's going to be helping pick before she knows it!

An Afternoon at Oak Run

We spent July 3 with my family at Oak Run. It was Lydia's first time in a lake and on a boat. As you can see, she loved playing with Daddy in the water and in the sand. Of course Daddy just had to bury her legs. She took it very well! She did like riding in the boat too, but did not want to wear her life jacket and didn't want to sit too much either! Now that she has figured out walking, there isn't much sitting going on around here. She's a busy little girl.

A Ride From Grandpa

Great Grandpa Kamp gave me a ride in my car. He's the best great grandpa ever! I would ride around all day long if someone would just push me!

Happy Birthday Lydia

Happy birthday to me! Daddy said I could do whatever I wanted to do cause it was my birthday....so I went outside in my cool shades and worked on my tan!

Great Grandma Kamp made me my own birthday cake......it was so delicious! I especially liked the frosting...YUMMY!!

Mommy and Daddy thought I needed to take a break from cake eating to take a picture...come on now...I'm busy!

Ridin my car around sportin my birthday girl shirt! So cute.

Happy Birthday Lydia May! Mommy and Daddy love you to pieces!!

Sonny Dog

Daddy has been Sonny Dog at VBS this week, and Lydia is not a big fan of Sonny Dog's. As you can see from the first picture, she is terrified!! He even lifted up the head and showed her that he was underneath, and she still wanted nothing to do with him. Finally, after we helped him get his costume on, and she could see that it was Daddy first, then Sonny Dog, she was better.

We're thinking this might be our Christmas card this year!

happy birthday daddy

It has been too long since I last updated this..Sorry! These are some pictures of Lydia helping make an angel food cake for daddy's birthday. She had a great time putting most of the batter onto the counter. FYI~angel food cake is VERY sticky!! We went straight to the bathtub.

Lydia took her first steps last night! I just held out my hands and there she went. She's been getting a little braver already today! Ed is looking forward to coming home and seeing it for himself....he was bummed that he missed it. And of course, my mom and sister are out of town, so we made a trip to show Great Grandma Kamp today! We just had to show someone.
